Women's Wear Daily, one of the nation's most well respected fashion industry magazines, featured Valana Minerals in its August 10th publication of the "Beauty Biz" on the "It List."
I'm proud to say that Valana Minerals was the only company on the "It List" that offers all natural foundation and vegan lipcolors in such a deep, rich color palate.

In my travels I've found that people of color all over had the same problem with makeup. I started making my own cosmetics and I was so happy with the result I decided to start my own all natural mineral makeup line specifically formulated for women of color. |

Labor Day with KTLA and Valana Minerals : “This Labor Day was unlike any holiday I've had so far. It was spent with Valerie Reed of Valana Minerals at the African Marketplace in Los Angeles. Not very exciting, sure, but the reason I was there was to help Valerie as her company was showcased on KTLA Morning Show. Valerie makes me so proud. When I hosted my first business class at the San Diego Learning Annex in 2006, the room contained about 10 women who expressed an interest to start a beauty company. There were some wonderful ideas proffered up that day: create a line of makeup for women of color, another wanted to create a line of makeup for women suffering through cancer and another had a great branding idea for a lip balm. Of all those great ideas, as far as I know, Valerie was the only one to bring her idea to fruition.”

Yes, I’m ready to Fall in Love with Valana Minerals Stardust Luxury Foundation: “Yesterday, I visited the Skin Deep (www.cosmeticsdatabase.com) cosmetics database, in search of a non-toxic mineral foundation powder. I had actually intended to get the name of another product that I had seen on the list before so that I could visit their website. Thankfully, I noticed there was a newer name in the top fifty foundation products with the lowest safety concerns: Valana Minerals Stardust Luxury Foundation. Summer is approaching (I know I know, not until the 21st), and everyone is shedding that extra heavy foundation. "I received my sample shades, Golden Whisper, Golden bamboo & Earth Sable and as a first time customer I must say it is so refreshing to see such such rich and beautiful shades for women of color.
For the past six months I have been using mineral makeup from a local company, and have had to make due with the shades offered for ethnic complexions and I have been searching the web
for companies offering mineral makeup for women of color and saw many companies including Valana minerals. I tried all three today and am so pleased with the quality of the minerals.

“Thank you so much for the free sample eyeshadow it's gorgeous. I love the flat buffer brush [Faux Collection], I used it last night after I got home,
and I used this morning. It is sooooooooooooooo soft and dense; my mineral makeup goes on much smoother than with the kabuki I got from Walgreens.
Is your kabuki brush that full and soft too? The Red Amber that I purchased in the summer looks better on me now than it did in the summer.
I haven't had to blend it with another color. I like the Gentle Amber, especially for the area under the eyes. As you expected the Amber Dream is too dark for me, it is a

“Actually since Tuesday, I've been wearing just the Red Amber and it's been fine. I've gotten compliments from my family and co-workers. “I've used different cosmetic products throughout my life. I've tried the ones I find at my local drug store as well as the ones behind department stores. My needs are rather specific, not just because I have a combination skin in terms of my color, but also in terms of my skin's moisture. I tend to be oily across my forehead and in the past had issues with acne. The products I've used in the past not only have missed the mark in matching my tan to olive undertones, but they did not work with my oily skin. Some of the foundations that promised help with my oily skin have irritated my skin, made it look ashy and or produce a lot more oil. I actually had given up on my attempt to find makeup that would work just fine. Then about a month ago, I learned of Valana Minerals and though skeptic at first, I went for a makeover. “I have to admit, I'm a skeptic when it comes to wearing foundation, as I am a light brown African American Queen and I have been stuck with one shade of foundation from both Fashion Fair and Flori Roberts. As most know, we come in a lot of shades of light brown. Valana's foundation is so light that you forget that you're wearing foundation until you look in the mirror. I also like the fact that it takes only seconds to apply. Until Valana was created, I only wore foundation on special occasions, but now I wear it practically daily to work, plus I don't have to reapply it through the day. I brought my daughter who is several shades darker than I, plus my two nieces, who are different shades of light brown, for a make over with Valana products. All of the girls (ages 14 to 16) makeup looked natural on them and at the same time they stood out. “Okay, so I got the Girlfriends and Coffee set and thought, hmm, what different things can I do with these? I'm particularly happy with Valana's Sparkle Lips Color Stick and how I can dip the brush into the eyeshadow for different lip colors.
