Quick TIP: Eye color application for "Deep Set Eyes"

Apply light shade to eyelid and crease. Apply darker shade just below the brow and at lash line. Blend where colors meet.

Quick tips are great but sometimes the reasons behind them need a more in depth explanation. This way you can adapt the information for use in other areas.

Color: Darker colors give the impression that an object is "receding." Darker colors add depth. While lighter shades offer the illusion of "prominence" or bring an object forward.

Contour/Shadow: Deep set eyes have a more prominent shape to the brow and the crease of the eye appears quite recessed.

For a balanced effect: Apply lighter shades to areas that are naturally recessed to bring the object 'forward.' Apply deeper shades to areas that are naturally prominent to create more depth. In doing so, you create a more "balanced" appearance.

Feel free to ask questions, comments and let me know your results after trying this application tip. Enjoy!

Thanks for the explanation as to WHY to apply colors this way! I've heard this tip before but never tried it because I honestly didn't think it would work! Now that I understand the reasoning, I can't wait to try it out!
