Black Rapunzel - Raca Magazine

Natural mineral makeup, natural skin and hair care are not my only passions. Another is travel and culture. I try to incorporate as much of my travel experience as possible into my company and my teaching. You may have noticed that I even like to name my product shades after places that I love to visit. I find it inspiring to meet and learn from people who are from cultures other than my own.

One of the things I've discovered during my many trips to Brasil is a magazine called "Raca." This was one of the first magazines in Brasil that focused on Afro Brazilian culture, people, products and perspectives and let me tell you...it was a long time coming! I've been in love with this magazine since the first edition. The stories, interviews and photography are amazing and offer unique insight into the lives of Black people in Brasil.
I'd like to introduce you to Raca Magazine with a recent published piece called Black Rapunzel written by Eliana Antiqueira. The photographic team is Caio Mello, Silas Jr., Andrea da Rocha. Makeup by Bruno Torres and the hair stylist is Chris Oliveira.
It's a short photo essay depicting beautiful natural (some with synthetic extensions) hair styles. I love this piece because it brings two of my loves, natural hair and Brasilian culture, together. Everything in this piece is pretty self-explanatory but if you want me to translate something just ask and I'll be happy to help. I hope you like the photos and I'll share more from this fantastic magazine soon.
Enjoy!
